Ethical Investor is a media partner for Carbon Market Expo Australasia 2009, Australia’s biggest carbon market event, which is attractings global climate change leaders from Europe, UK, Brazil, India, China, New Zealand and Australia.
The event, which hosted over 104 national and international speakers last year, is set to exceed this number in 2009, the orgnaisers said.
“We are entering a new era that will change the way we do and think about business, not only in Australia, but globally. It’s clear that many businesses still have significant work to do to be fully prepared for the coming carbon-constrained economy and introduction of the ETS in 2011,” Brett Janissen, executive director, Asia-Pacific Emissions Trading Forum and event co-host.
“Australian businesses can learn from climate change global leaders and should factor any learning’s into their succession planning. There are no off-the-shelf approaches, and each business needs to explore this individually to meet their own long term requirements,” said Janissen.
The line up of national and global speakers for Carbon Market Expo Australasia 2009 includes: Robert Hill, Chair, Australian Carbon Trust, former Australian Environment Minister; Howard Bamsey, Deputy Secretary, Australian Department of Climate Change; John Marlow, Global Head of Environmental Financial Products, Macquarie Bank, London; Patrick Birley, Chief Executive, European Climate Exchange, London; and James Grabert, Manager Joint Implementation Sustainable Mechanisms Program, UNFCCC, Germany.
The 2009 event will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre from 26-28 October.
